Dive into South Texas’ vibrant and diverse Indigenous cultures at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History’s Indigenous Heritage Celebration. This immersive experience into the rich heritage of local Indigenous communities will feature performances by Kalpulli Ehekatl Papalotzin (kaɬˈpoːlːi e-HE-kah-tl Pap-a-lotzin), a local Mexica group linked to Aztec or Azteca traditions. This Corpus-based group traces their lineage back to Tenochtitlan (modern day Mexico City). Participate in hands-on activities, like ‘Ojos de Dios’ weaving, and learn about these communities’ from speakers like Juan Garcia, of the Lipan Tribe of Texas and Deron Sun Eagle.
