We’re finally here! The last weekend before school returns for many in and around Corpus Christi. Wait, already? This doesn’t mean summer is over by any means and summertime fun is still all over the calendar. Let’s take a look at some of the hottest and most fun things to do around Corpus this weekend! Don’t forget, it’s also a tax-free weekend in Texas!
IT’S NOT THAT KIND OF BIKE, NERD.
Friday, 5 pm
Saturday, 10 am
House of Rock
Whether you ride with a large, mechanical steel bull on two wheels between your legs or just like to take a peek at them, check out one of the biggest bike weekends of the year starting Friday night, at House of Rock, featuring local vendors, live music, with food and drink specials. Saturday morning the party moves out to JP Luby Beach Park hosted by Rowdy House Customs. They’ll have beach games, biker games, and more. Check out more details from what’s sure to be a badass hoedown from downtown, to the beach, and back!
Friday, 5:30 pm
You know what it is and it keeps growing. At First Friday’s Downtown ArtWalk we’ll enjoy live music, curated markets, food, and more from many local vendors up and down North Chap & Mesquite streets. Check out the map for the answer to the question you just asked: Who will be there? Free to attend
Friday, 6:30 pm
Wanna a little high brow before heading out to the block parties? Bellino’s is hosting a wine tasting dinner guided by Chef Francisco and a guest sommelier will be explaining why you’re loving those grapes.
Friday, 10 pm
Black Monk Tavern
After breaking it down New Wave style earlier in the night, keep your crimped hair and overabundance of makeup on and head over to Black Monk Tavern for the next evolution of music from your teen angst memory banks. Headbanger’s Pit will blast your earholes featuring classic metal hits from the likes of Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Pantera, Anthrax, SOD, Lamb of God, and many more. 21 and up. No Cover. Great food, too!
Saturday 11 am
House of Rock
Looking for some new records, maybe a poster to pretend that you’re really into some obscure band. Or maybe you want to rock an old GnR t-shirt. The Rock N Roll Flea Market will be loaded up with tons of rock memorabilia. So hop in your Dragula and head to House of Rock Saturday, pick up a slice of pizza, and peruse!
Sunday, High Noon
Bluff’s Landing Marina & Lodge
Sunday mornings are for catching your breath doing whatever you like best and some of us just want to buy things. If that’s your interest, be sure to head out to Bluff’s Landing Marina & Lodge for their monthly Shop Local Sunday market day. Support local vendors, try tasty food from The Landing while having a slow Sunday. This event pops off on the first Sunday of each month.
Emerald Beach Hotel
Yeah, I don’t actually know what your chakra is but I bet they do at the Corpus Mystic Market – Holistic Fair. They want to help you tune up your metaphysical and will have plenty of holistic practitioners to help guide you to balance.
