Y’all, I’m totally invested in this Texas showdown playing out in Houston and Arlington. I’m not ashamed to say that my weekend activities include scoping out what events will show the ALCS games. It’s a house divided here, with my boyfriend rooting for the Rangers and my bleeding blue and orange. Let’s go ’Stros! The baseball postseason aside, you might find me in my Altuve jersey at the Texas Jazz Fest or petting all the pups at Howl-O-Ween. Here’s what’s going on this weekend in the Coastal Bend:
TEXAS JAZZ FEST

Heritage Park
The biggest, longest-running jazz festival in the world is back: head over to Heritage Park for the 62nd Texas Jazzfest. Catch multiple toe-tapping acts on three stages over three days at this free festival. Acts include Left Hand Devil, Europa, and a host of more talented musicians from the Coastal Bend and beyond.

In the Game Funtrackers
Get into the game at a spooky, fun-filled Halloween Fest with a free trunk-or-treat at Funtrackers. For $25, get $15 of play credits, admission to your attraction of choice, a pick-your-own pumpkin and decoration station. The trunk-or-treat is free!

Profits from the Gayla will support the center’s mission of supporting the local LGTBQ+ community by helping establish a one-of-a-kind scholarship program. Incoming college freshmen to masters level students will be able to apply for a $5,000 or $2,500 scholarship. Tickets are sold out, so look forward to the next Gayla!
